Gregor Kieslich is an inorganic chemist studying crystal chemistry of solid-state materials and extended hybrid frameworks. He studied chemistry between 2006 and 2010 and finished his PhD in June 2013 on oxide materials for thermoelectric application (University of Mainz, group Prof Tremel). In general, his interests lie in the design of materials for energy related applications such as thermoelectrics and photovoltaics, which will play an important role in the complex energy landscape of the future. Dr. Kieslich currently holds a German Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship, and is working with Anthony Cheetham at the University of Cambridge in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy. Throughout his career, Dr. Kieslich has worked with top-tier researchers, such as Wolfgang Tremel (University of Mainz), Yuri Grin (Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids), Ram Seshadri and Galen Stucky (both University of California, Santa Barbara). His ongoing projects focus on finding fundamental structure-property relationships in hybrid materials with the ambitious goal of designing materials with distinct physical properties.
